Our Newest Distinguished Alumni & Faculty!

On Friday, March 13th, the Loveland Schools Foundation held an event to honor our 2026 Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Faculty.  Over 100 guests gathered to congratulate and support the recipients.  Appetizers and drinks were available during the course of the evening.  There were also several items up for bid through a silent auction.  Funds raised from this event will be used to support the Foundation’s partnership with the Loveland City School District through venues such as Staff Grants, Scholarships and district wide support such as the LIS/LMS Outdoor Classroom.    You can find the list of our 2026 Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Faculty along with their bios through this link.  If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for one of these lifetime awards, nominations will be accepted Fall of 2026 through our website.  Look for more information in our Fall newsletter.

District Partnership for the LIS/LMS Outdoor Classroom

The Loveland City School District Strategic Vision emphasizes engaging learning experiences, whole-child development and environments where students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.  The Loveland Schools Foundation is proud to support the District’s Strategic Vision by investing in an LIS/LMS Outdoor Classroom that will benefit over 1,200 Intermediate and Middle School students - a space designed to foster curiosity, innovation, wellness and real-world learning. 

Our LMS students are excited to see this idea become a reality! Here are a few of their thoughts:

Staff Grant Gratitude

Each fall, the Loveland Schools Foundation provides staff grants to staff members across all grades. We loved hearing from Jackie Jackson Dean, M.A., NCSP, our school psychologist at Loveland Elementary.

“I wanted to send my appreciation to the Loveland Schools Foundation for my grant to create an "All Kinds of Minds" library with so many different books about neurodiversity (and an adorable plush, labeled brain).

I've attached a picture of me in one of our 3rd grade classrooms following a lesson on neurodiversity. The students really enjoyed an interactive read-aloud using the book, "Just Ask! Be Different, Be Brave, Be You." Afterwards, students were given a blank flower and had the opportunity to write something unique about themselves in the middle of the flower and then color it in whatever way they wanted.”

Flying Pig Marathon Success

Loveland Schools Foundation is so proud of all the runners and walkers that crushed the Flying Pig this year! From the 26th Mile to PigAbilities, to the 10K to the Relay to the Half Marathon, and the Full Marathon, Loveland showed up!  We are delighted the LES Runners Club also participated.  Thank you to everyone who raised money for Loveland Schools, and to everyone who donated in support of our participants!  TOGETHER we make our schools STRONGER! 

Loveland Schools Foundation Student Ambassadors

The Loveland Schools Foundation has three pillars of support-Staff Grants, Student Scholarships and District Wide Priorities. Our current district wide priority is partnering with the LCSD to raise funds for the LIS/LMS Outdoor Classroom.  The LSF board determined that student involvement in the projects and programs that benefit them directly would be beneficial.  Headed by LSF members Lynn Mangan, Patti Pedicini and Khloe Broehlman, the LSF Student Ambassador program was created.   Interested students went through an application and interview process before being selected.  We are very excited to announce our new Ambassadors are: Juniors Joslyn Schinbeckler, Katelyn Fahey, Lauren McCullough and Nicholas Paumier; Sophomores Sofie Kelleher, Brayden Smith, Oliver Stepaniak, Jean Gantt, Owen Liu, Calleigh Johnson and Liviu Radu; and Freshmen Ava Baker and Micaiah Cheatham.  These Ambassadors will assist the Foundation with fundraising, marketing, communication as well as attend and speak at events.   

Loveland Intermediate & Middle School Donut Days

Recently, the students at the Loveland Intermediate and Middle Schools participated in a Read - A-Thon asking friends and family to sponsor them through donations to go toward the new Outdoor Classroom.  This was a four week contest with the classroom with the highest weekly donations being given a donut party!  The four winning classrooms were Ms. Kathleen Smith, Ms. Malia Evans, Ms. Leslie Warren and Ms. Anna Tuell.  Congratulations to those teachers and their students and all the family and friends who donated.  We are all winners!

Loveland Middle School Interview Day

In recent years, Loveland Middle School has sponsored a Mock Interview Day.  This is a great opportunity for our 8th grade students to learn how to present themselves during a job interview.  Several community members volunteered time to interview students, provide feedback and share their experiences and expertise.  Loveland Schools Foundation board members, Khloe Broelmann, Lynn Mangan, Jen Shaftel and Trenna Sowder participated in this event and were very impressed by the young persons they interviewed.  Our future looks to be in good hands! 

Employer Sponsored Grants

Does your company or employer offer grants to non-profit organizations?  If YES, we have a great non-profit organization right here!  The Loveland Schools Foundation is always looking for different ways to raise funds for our programs and projects.  Jennifer Shaftel, one of our board members, is experienced in grant writing and would love the opportunity to apply for a grant through your employer. Donating Made Easy Just by Shopping

Do you shop regularly at Kroger or Dorothy Lane Market (DLM)? The Loveland Schools Foundation is now enrolled in the rewards programs for both Kroger and DLM.

To use the Kroger Community Rewards Program, simply visit http://www.kroger.com. Once logged in to your Kroger account, you can search for Loveland Schools Foundation by name or EV234, then click Enroll. New users will need to create an account, which requires some basic information, a valid email address, and a rewards card.

To use the Dorothy Lane Market Good Neighbor Program, link your DLM Club Card to our organization, use this link https://www.DorothyLane.com/GoodNeighbor. The same link can be used to enroll in the DLM Club Card Program. At the end of each calendar year, Dorothy Lane Market donates to local nonprofits based on the preferences of their DLM Club Card members.

Small donations through rewards programs like these can add up quickly. Please take the time to enroll today!

June Fundraising Events

Loveland Schools Foundation is partnering with several local businesses in June.  We would love for you to participate by supporting the Foundation as well as the businesses working with us.  MARK YOUR CALENDARS!  The proceeds from these fundraisers will be donated to the Loveland Middle School/Loveland Intermediate School Outdoor Classroom project.  You can see details about the project here.

Saturday, June 13th 

• Cappy’s will be donating $1.00 for every pour to the Foundation.  Ace Hardware has donated a BBQ Basket that will be raffled off.  Also, Split the Pot, a Loveland favorite, will be part of the fun.  

• Bike Trail Books is donating 20% off your purchase if you mention our name, Loveland Schools Foundation at purchase.    

Future Events

Cpt. Seth Mitchell 5K - October 3, 2026 at the Loveland Bike Trail.  Proceeds from the Mitchell 5K race are put toward the Captain Seth Mitchell Memorial Scholarship.  If you’d like to sign up as a runner, you can do so through this link.  17th Annual Captain Seth Mitchell HERO 5K Run and Walk.  The Loveland Schools Foundation is a great supporter of many scholarships.  We will be there next to the race sign-in to promote the many other programs and projects we support such as Staff Grants, the LSF Scholarship and Graduation Assistance. We hope to see you there!

Our Vision and Our Thanks

Our vision is “To promote, serve, and support the academic, artistic, cultural, scientific, and service projects of the Loveland City School District.”   The support from donors, community sponsors and volunteers allow us to continue to make the LCSD a place where students and staff can excel.  We are blessed to have a community that continues to support our vision.  We wish all of you a very wonderful summer and look forward to the next school year!
