The cold and snowy weather has not prevented the Loveland Schools Foundation from our mission to make a positive impact within the Loveland School District throughout the year.  January 31, 2025, we hosted our Distinguished Alumnus and Distinguished Faculty event.  Over 100 people attended to honor George Litteral, Jr., Class of 1979 and Nick Jackson, Class of 1998 as Distinguished Alumnus and Linda Slusher and Steve Kenyon as Distinguished Faculty.  It was a very moving event.  Nick Jackson and George Litteral, Jr. also spoke with our Loveland High School juniors how coming through the Loveland School District set a good foundation toward their careers, experiences and life.  You can read more about these fantastic honorees on our website.  If you know of someone who would be a candidate for either Distinguished Alumni or Distinguished Faculty, nomination forms can be found on our website.  We will honor the next class of honorees late January or early February 2026.  

Student Scholarships

January and February brings the rush of high school seniors applying for scholarships.  The Loveland Schools Foundation currently offers 12 scholarships.  Seniors must apply, through the high school guidance office, by February 28, 2025.   In March, the Foundation’s scholarship committee will review the applications and those who are awarded a scholarship will have their names announced at the April 30, 2025 Senior Awards Ceremony at the high school.  This is one of the highlights of the year for the Foundation and is the culmination of the hard work and dedication of the students receiving a scholarship award.

Steve Kenyon Outdoor Memorial Classroom

The Loveland Schools Foundation is pleased to be partnering with Tigers Inc and LHS Green Team in support of the Steve Kenyon Memorial Classroom at Loveland High School. Mr. Kenyon was a Loveland graduate, Loveland teacher and Loveland coach for both baseball and football. Being a part of Loveland High School combined his passion for education and sports. His sudden passing was not only a loss for Loveland High School, but a loss for our entire community. The Steve Kenyon Outdoor Memorial Classroom will be a lasting tribute to his love of the outdoors and teaching. To learn more or donate to the classroom, please visit our website here.

Staff Grants

Staff who received funds from our Staff Grants have been enjoying their purchases the past few weeks.  Grants were awarded for reading and STEM materials, mentoring programs and clubs. flexible furniture and much, much more.  We have several pictures on our website of staff and students using items purchased through staff grant funds.  This year over $12,000 was awarded throughout the district.  This is how the Loveland Schools Foundation and your donations are making an impact!

Graduation Assistance

Not only does the Loveland Schools Foundation offer scholarships and staff grants, we also have a program called Graduation Assistance.  This program was set up to assist high school seniors with outstanding school fees due to financial or family difficulties.  While this program is not as visible as other Foundation programs, it is one that is very much appreciated by the students and their families.  Donations can be designated for Graduation Assistance through our website.
