Introducing New Board Members

The Loveland Schools Foundation is pleased to announce Board Member Dan Colletto has accepted the position of Treasurer. We would also like to introduce Khloe Broelmann and Beth Wexler as new Board Members at Large.  Become involved!  We have several areas where your talents would be welcome whether in a large scale or small.  Our core teams are Alumni Engagement, Community Outreach and Fundraising, Communications and Event Planning.  If you are  interested in learning how to become more involved with the Foundation, you can find out HERE.

How We Participate

The Foundation has been busy behind the scenes as we continue to look for more opportunities for growth.  Our vision is To promote, serve and support the academic, artistic, cultural, scientific and service projects of the Loveland City School District.  We are able to do this monetarily through our staff grants, scholarships and other programs, but we also continue to look for ways to be visible and supportive by participating in school and community events.  Recently Ken Davis and Lynn Mangan, two of our board members, participated in the Loveland Middle School Interview Day.  This event was a one-on-one interview process allowing our 8th grade students to experience a mock interview.  Ken and Lynn really enjoyed interviewing these young people who are our future.

How Your Donations Make an Impact

Most of Loveland Schools Foundation funding goes toward Staff Grants and Scholarships.  We were able to award 36 grants in the 2024-2025 school year!  There are pictures on our website where you can see how teachers and students benefit from donated funds awarded to them through Staff Grants.  It was our extreme pleasure to award 14 senior scholarships at the Senior Awards Program on April 30th.  You can find the complete list of scholarship recipients in this newsletter and on our website.  Our Graduation Assistance program offers financial support to seniors who owe school fees due to unfortunate financial circumstances.  We continue to discover new ways to make an impact within the district.  The Loveland Schools Foundation is a support organization for every school, every student and every staff member.

Senior Scholarships

One of the highlights for the Loveland Schools Foundation is awarding our senior scholarships.  The Foundation offers several scholarships in partnership with the scholarship sponsor.  $25,500 in scholarships were given out at the Senior Awards Program held on April 30th. Honoring the Waples

The Loveland Schools Foundation was sorry to learn of the passing of Chuck and Karen Waple in late March. Chuck and Karen dedicated their lives to public education. Chuck was a public school superintendent with the Loveland City School District and the Wyoming City School District. Karen taught Kindergarten with Mason City Schools for 30+ years and was also a substitute teacher in the Loveland City School District for 20 years. Both Chuck and Karen volunteered in many organizations such as LIFE Food Pantry. They will be truly missed by the Loveland community. Our sincere thanks to John and Jeffrey Waple for directing donations to the Loveland Schools Foundation in memory of their parents.

Gearing Up for Summer

Upcoming summer events are in the works.  There will be a fund-raising event at Cappy’s on Saturday, June 21st.  Cappy’s will partner with the Loveland Schools Foundation by donating $1.00 for each poured pint throughout the day.  The Bagel and Deli food truck will be on-site and will be donating 10% of their proceeds to the LSF as well.  Invite your friends and neighbors to enjoy a pint and a bagel sandwich while relaxing on Cappy’s porch.  Consider having a pint and a bite after biking or walking on the bike trail.  There’s nothing like a cold brew to beat the heat!  Members of the Foundation will also take part in Loveland’s 4th of July Parade. This year the parade starts at 2:00 from the Loveland Elementary School going through to downtown Loveland.  We are very excited as this is our first year to participate.  Keep watching for any other events that may take place between now and the start of the new school year.

Thankful for Our Community

The Loveland Schools Foundation is grateful for the continued support from our Community Sponsors, our Members and the Loveland community.  Without your support, many of our programs would not be possible.  We truly appreciate you!

Happy summer!
