LIS/LMS Outdoor Classroom

Learn more about the project here.

The Loveland City School District Strategic Vision emphasizes engaging learning experiences, whole-child development, and environments where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

An outdoor classroom supports these priorities by:

  • Encouraging active, student-centered instruction

  • Supporting collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking by creating space for hands-on experiential learning

  • Expanding learning spaces to meet diverse student needs

  • Enhancing student well-being, focus, and engagement by providing a less structured  environment

  • Providing authentic opportunities for problem-solving and inquiry

For our over 1,200 LIS/LMS students in grades 5–8—a critical period for growth, independence, and personal development —outdoor learning offers meaningful opportunities to connect classroom learning to the real world.

Learning doesn’t only happen inside four walls. The Loveland Schools Foundation is proud to support the Loveland City School District’s Strategic Vision by investing in an LIS/LMS Outdoor Classroom for our Loveland Intermediate & Middle School students - a space designed to foster curiosity, innovation, wellness, and real-world learning.
